2024-2025 Kindergarten Welcome Message

Dear Vincent Massey Kindergarten Families:
Welcome to Vincent Massey Public School! We are looking forward to welcoming your child and your family this school year.
The first day of school is on Tuesday, September 3. School starts at 8:35 a.m.
There is no gradual entry schedule for Kindergarten students this year.
ALL students begin school on the first day of school.
Dropping Off and Picking Up Your Child
We encourage all families who are within walking distance to walk to school.
The south parking lot, which is adjacent to the Kindergarten Yard, is reserved for staff members, including our Before and After School Care staff.
Please do not enter the south parking lot with your vehicle (the parking lot near the kindergarten yard).
When driving your child to school, please park at the Eastdale parking lot and walk with your child to the Kindergarten yard.
If you are dropping off your child after 8:35 a.m. and one of your child’s educators is not in the yard, you must bring your child to the office.
Finding Out Your Child’s Teacher
You will be able to learn the name of your child’s teacher beginning Friday, August 30, 2024 by accessing the DDSB Parent Portal. You will need your child’s “OEN Number” to access the portal.
Year 2 (SK) students can find the OEN number on any report cards from last year. If your child was a student in Ontario in 2023-2024, they will have an OEN already assigned.
For new Year 1 (JK) and new Year 2 (SK) students who have not previously attended school in Ontario, please contact the office by phone to obtain your child’s number and keep it in a safe place. Unfortunately, due to student confidentiality, we cannot release the number by email.
Please note, if you encounter difficulties, the initial set up is best done on a computer.

Finding Out Your Child’s Bus Information
School bus transportation information for eligible students is via the DSTS Information Line (905 666 6979) and Parent Portal.
Your child’s OEN number and birthdate will be required to access the information.
